Intake Air Temperature Sensor for Nissan Engines ️

This small but critical sensor helps the engine “feel” the temperature of the air entering the intake. The ECU uses this value to correct fuel injection, ignition timing, and turbo/air density calculations. When air is colder it is denser, so the system must add the right fuel; when it’s hot, it must adjust to prevent knock and power loss.

How it works ⚙️

What happens if it fails

A bad sensor may cause hard starts, rich/lean running, weak acceleration, higher fuel use, black smoke, and an engine warning light. In some cases the ECU goes into a safe default value, reducing performance.
