Intake Pressure/MAP Sensor for Precision Fuel Control βοΈ
This MAP/boost pressure sensor keeps the engine brain reading the real air load. With correct manifold pressure data, the ECU can deliver proper fuel, spark, and valve timing for smooth idle, crisp throttle, strong power, clean emissions, and good economy. OEM reference: 22365EY00C.
How it works ?
A sealed MEMS pressure chip converts air pressure in the intake manifold (or charge pipe on boosted engines) into a 0.5β4.5 V signal. Supplied by a stable 5 V reference and ground, the sensor reports absolute pressure in kPa. The ECU blends this with MAF/O2 data to manage fueling, EGR, and boost/supercharger control. An integrated O-ring ensures airtight sealing.
What happens if it fails β οΈ
Expect hard starts, rough idle, flat spots, high fuel use, black smoke, or limp mode. Check Engine light with codes like P0106βP0108 is common. Over-fueling can foul plugs and harm the catalytic converter; under-fueling risks knock at load.
Tech tips β
- Inspect connector, pins, and harness for oil wicking or corrosion.
- Replace the O-ring; never seal with silicone.
- Do not spray cleaners into the port; it can ruin the MEMS chip.
- After install, clear codes and perform idle/ECU relearn.
