How it works ⚙️

Inside is a hot‑film/heated wire. Intake air cools the element; the circuit increases current to hold temperature. That change converts to a signal the ECU reads as airflow. Many units also report intake air temperature for finer fuel trims. It sits in the intake duct after the filter for clean, laminar flow.

What happens if it’s failing ❗

Hard starts, rough idle, flat spots, poor fuel economy, black smoke, or stalling. Check Engine Light with codes like P0100–P0104 is common. The ECU may enter limp mode and power drops.

Tech tips

Mount with the arrow facing airflow, seat the O‑ring, and avoid oiled filters. Clear trims or perform ECU relearn after install. Only use MAF‑safe cleaner if needed.
