As oil temperature drops, lubrication stays stable and the engine can hold proper oil pressure under stress. This also supports cleaner operation by slowing oil breakdown.

What Happens If It’s Broken ?

A faulty cooler can cause oil overheating, thin oil, lower pressure, and faster engine wear. External leaks may leave oil on the block or under the car. Internal failure can mix oil and coolant, creating sludge, overheating, and possible severe engine damage if driven too long.
