This component keeps your engine running at the perfect temperature. It opens and closes at a certain heat level, allowing coolant to flow when the engine is hot and restricting it when it's cold. How It Works

The thermostat is a valve located between the engine and the radiator. When you start your car, it stays closed so the engine warms up quickly. Once the engine reaches the right operating temperature, the thermostat opens. This lets coolant move through the radiator, cooling the engine before cycling back.

Risks if Faulty

If this part fails in the closed position, the engine can overheat rapidly. If stuck open, the engine may run too cool, leading to poor performance, higher emissions, and increased wear on engine parts.
