Distributor Rotor Assembly for Reliable Spark Delivery ⚡

This ignition rotor is a key moving part inside the distributor that routes high voltage from the ignition coil to each cylinder in the correct firing order. It is needed to keep combustion timing stable, starts quick, and power smooth. As the distributor shaft spins, the rotor tip passes each cap terminal and “hands off” the spark with a precise air gap, helping the engine fire cleanly under load and at idle.

How It Works

The rotor mounts on the distributor shaft and turns in sync with the engine. Its conductive tip carries current and jumps it to the nearest cap contact, cylinder by cylinder. Good insulation prevents crossfire, while a clean tip keeps resistance low for a strong spark.

If the Rotor Fails

A worn or cracked rotor can cause misfires, rough idle, hard starting, weak acceleration, backfiring, and poor fuel economy. Severe arcing may damage the distributor cap and ignition leads, leaving you stranded.
