Electronic Accelerator Pedal Assembly
Why this part is needed
This unit translates your right foot into clean engine power. In modern drive‑by‑wire systems, it sends precise pedal position to the ECU, giving smooth take‑off, safer overtakes, better fuel economy, and stable idle. A healthy pedal module keeps throttle response predictable in city traffic and on the highway.
How it works ⚙️
Inside the pedal arm are dual Hall-effect position sensors and a return spring. As you press, two redundant voltage signals travel through the connector to the ECU. The ECU compares both tracks, commands the electronic throttle body, and continuously checks for mismatches for safety. Sealed electronics and tight bushings ensure low friction and stable readings.
What happens if it’s broken ❗
Expect dead spots, delayed acceleration, surging, high or unstable idle, increased fuel use, and warning lights. The car may enter limp mode, limit RPM, or store codes like P2122–P2138. Driving can become unsafe, especially when merging or overtaking.
