Engine Oil Filler Cap Assembly — keep your motor sealed and clean ️

This OE‑style engine oil cap is a small part with a big job. It seals the filler neck on the cam cover to keep oil inside, dirt and moisture out, and crankcase pressure stable. A fresh, heat‑rated rubber gasket under the cap stops misting and sweating around the top of the engine. It’s a direct fit for many Nissan and Datsun models, making it a smart preventive replacement and an easy fix for seepage or odor in the engine bay.

How it works

The cap locks onto the filler neck with a precise bayonet/quarter‑turn profile (or thread, depending on variant). Its high‑temp seal compresses evenly to create an oil‑tight, air‑tight closure. This helps the PCV system maintain correct crankcase balance, protecting gaskets and keeping idle quality stable.

When the cap fails ⚠️

Common signs include oil film on the cover, burning‑oil smell, dust in the neck, rough idle, and gradual oil loss. Left unchecked, contaminants speed up engine wear, coils and belts get oily, and the MIL may appear due to unmetered air.

Tech tips ️
