EVAP purge control valve — OEM ref: 14930EN20A

Why you need it

This valve is part of the EVAP system that traps fuel vapors in the charcoal canister and sends them to the engine to burn. It keeps emissions low, prevents fuel smell around the car, and stabilizes idle. A healthy valve helps fuel economy and keeps the Check Engine light off .

How it works

The ECU energizes a 12V solenoid and modulates it by duty cycle. Closed at cold start and idle, it opens when warm or cruising. Intake vacuum then draws stored vapors through the valve into the manifold. Quick-connect fittings and sealed O-rings ensure leak-free flow .

If it fails

Stuck open: rough idle, hard warm starts after refuel, rich mixture, fuel odor. Stuck closed or leaking: EVAP codes (P0441/P0443/P0455),failed emission test, tank pressure buildup. Intermittent electrical fault: no clicking, erratic purge, illuminated MIL ⚠️.

Pro tips

Locate near intake manifold/EVAP lines. Verify with smoke test and scan live purge command vs. fuel trims. Replace with OE-grade unit and new hoses/clips for best sealing.
