Why you need it

Any time the plenum is removed (plugs, injectors, valve cover service),this gasket should be renewed. Reusing old seals risks distortion and air leaks that the MAF can’t measure.

If the seal fails ⚠️

Expect rough or high idle, hissing sounds, hesitation on tip-in, lean codes (CEL),reduced power, and increased fuel use. Prolonged vacuum leaks can cause misfires, carbon buildup, and catalytic converter stress.

Install notes

Clean both surfaces, seat the gasket dry unless the service manual specifies otherwise, and torque the plenum in a crisscross pattern to spec. Replace brittle hoses while you’re there for best results .
