Radiator Pressure Cap for Mitsubishi Cooling System

This cap seals and pressurizes the cooling system so the coolant can run hotter without boiling. It keeps the loop closed, controls overflow to the reservoir, and protects hoses and the radiator core. Built to OE specs for steady temperature control and long engine life.

Why this part is needed ❄️

Correct pressure raises the coolant’s boiling point and prevents air from entering. A healthy cap reduces cavitation, improves heater performance, and stabilizes idle temperature in traffic and on highways.

How it works

A calibrated spring-loaded valve holds a set pressure. When pressure exceeds the rating, it vents to the expansion tank. On cooldown, a vacuum valve opens to draw coolant back, preventing hose collapse.

When it fails ⚠️

Signs include overheating, coolant smell, wet neck at the radiator, collapsed upper hose after shutdown, weak cabin heat, frequent top-ups, and steam. Prolonged use can warp heads or blow the gasket.
