Rocker Cover Sealing Gasket ️

This sealing gasket sits between the rocker/valve cover and the cylinder head. Its job is simple but critical: keep engine oil inside the top end while the camshaft area is splashed with oil during operation. A tight seal also helps maintain correct crankcase breathing and keeps dirt out of the engine.

Why This Part Is Needed

Heat cycles, oil vapors, and time make the rubber harden and shrink. Once it loses elasticity, it can’t follow the metal surfaces anymore, so leaks start. Replacing the gasket restores a clean, dry engine bay and protects nearby components. ✅

How It Works

When the cover bolts are tightened, the gasket compresses evenly, filling tiny imperfections in the mating surfaces. This creates an oil-tight barrier while still allowing normal engine vibration and expansion without breaking the seal.

What Happens If It’s Broken

A failed gasket can cause oil seepage onto the engine block and exhaust area, burning smells, smoke, messy plugs/coil wells, and misfires on some engines. Low oil level over time may lead to serious wear. Don’t ignore wetness around the cover. ⚠️
