Engine Valve Cover Assembly ?️

This component seals the top of the cylinder head and keeps engine oil exactly where it must stay: around the camshaft and valvetrain. It is needed to prevent oil leaks, maintain correct crankcase breathing, and protect the valve train area from dust and moisture.

How it works ⚙️

The cover bolts to the cylinder head and compresses a gasket to form a tight seal. Inside, it guides oil splash control and supports the PCV/breather flow so pressure does not build up. A stable seal helps the engine keep clean oil circulation and steady idle.

What happens if it’s damaged ❌

A cracked cover or hardened gasket can cause oil seepage onto the engine, burning smells, smoke, and messy buildup. Vacuum leaks may trigger rough idle, whistling noises, and warning lights. If ignored, low oil level can lead to accelerated cam wear and costly engine repairs.
