How It Works

The hose forms a sealed passage for incoming air. Its reinforced rubber/plastic body absorbs engine movement and vibration while maintaining airflow. It also helps reduce intake noise and prevents unfiltered air from entering past the filter. When the seal is correct, sensors can read airflow accurately and the engine control system can adjust fueling as designed.

What Happens If It’s Damaged

⚠️ Cracks, soft spots, or loose clamps can create vacuum/air leaks. This may cause rough idle, hesitation on acceleration, higher fuel use, whistling sounds, or a check-engine light. In severe cases, dirt can bypass the filter and accelerate throttle body and engine wear.
