How it works

Under engine vacuum, vapors leave the rocker/valve cover, travel through this tube, and mix with intake air to be burned. Oil mist is returned to the engine instead of leaking outside . The system balances pressure with the PCV valve for clean, efficient combustion.

If the hose fails

Expect rough idle, whistling/hissing, oil smell, higher fuel use, and possible check-engine light (lean mix). Cracks pull in unmetered air; soft spots collapse and choke the PCV path. Oil may seep onto hot parts, causing smoke and mess.

Tech notes

Inspect for splits at bends and ends. Replace clamps, verify PCV valve flow, and seat the hose fully on barbs. Install only on a cool engine for best fit and seal.
