Why this part is needed

This motor mount secures the engine to the subframe and keeps the powertrain correctly aligned. It absorbs vibration, reduces cabin noise, and protects nearby parts like the exhaust flex, hoses, and wiring. A healthy mount improves shift quality, reduces steering shake at idle, and keeps NVH levels low for comfortable trips .

How it works

The mount uses a rubber (often hydraulic) core bonded to steel brackets. It bolts to the engine bracket on one side and the chassis on the other. The elastomer and fluid chambers isolate high-frequency vibration while allowing limited movement for torque reactions during acceleration and braking. Internal stoppers prevent over-travel, keeping the engine from hitting the frame.

What happens if it’s broken

Expect harsh vibration at idle, thumps on start/stop, clunks when shifting, and extra movement under load. Long term, misalignment can wear CV joints, stress the exhaust, crack hoses, and damage other mounts. In severe cases the engine sags, fan may rub the shroud, and transmission mount life drops ⚠️.

Replacement tips
