Oil Feed Control Valve (Engine Lubrication Regulator) ?️

This precision valve is a key part of the engine lubrication control system. It is needed to manage how much oil is sent to critical engine galleries at different engine speeds and temperatures. By keeping oil flow stable, it helps reduce friction, supports smooth running, and protects bearings and valvetrain parts from metal-to-metal wear.

How It Works ⚙️

The valve uses an internal spool/plunger that opens or restricts an oil passage depending on oil pressure and control signals from the engine’s oil circuit. When conditions change, it reacts quickly to maintain the correct oil feed, preventing both oil starvation and excessive flow that can cause aeration or pressure drop elsewhere.

What Happens If It Fails ?

A sticking or worn valve can trigger unstable oil pressure, noisy ticking from the top end, delayed lubrication on cold starts, or accelerated engine wear. In severe cases, low oil feed may lead to bearing damage, overheating of moving parts, and eventual engine seizure. Replacing it restores proper oil control and long-term reliability.
