Premium Power Steering Suction Hose for Subaru

This low-pressure line links the steering fluid reservoir to the pump inlet. Made from oil- and heat-resistant rubber with fabric reinforcement and molded bends, it delivers a steady, bubble-free supply of PSF/ATF. The form-fit routing prevents kinks, while robust walls resist collapse under suction and daily vibration.

Why this part is needed

A healthy feed hose keeps air out of the system, reduces pump whine, and preserves smooth, light steering. Restoring this hose protects seals and bearings, especially during cold starts and tight parking maneuvers.

How it works ⚙️

The pump creates gentle vacuum on the inlet side. This hose holds shape under that vacuum, sealing to barbed fittings with clamps so the pump receives uninterrupted fluid. Its inner liner resists ATF, while the outer layer handles engine-bay heat.

If the hose is worn or broken ⚠️

Symptoms include whining at idle, heavy wheel feel, foamy/dark fluid, and wet spots near the reservoir. Cracks or soft spots can collapse, starving the pump and causing cavitation, metal debris, leaks, and possible sudden loss of assist. Fluid on belts may also cause squeal and slippage.

Installation tips

Replace clamps, clean barb ends, and inspect the reservoir O-ring. Use the specified Subaru fluid. After fitting, bleed by turning lock-to-lock with wheels raised, then recheck level and for any seepage.
