Reliable Oxygen Sensor Assembly for Subaru Exhaust Systems

This exhaust oxygen sensor assembly is a key part of the engine management system. It is needed to measure leftover oxygen in the exhaust gas so the ECU can adjust the air/fuel mixture in real time. When the mixture is correct, your Subaru runs smoother, uses less fuel, and keeps emissions under control βœ…

How It Works

The sensor sits in the exhaust stream and produces a voltage signal based on oxygen content. The ECU reads this signal and fine-tunes injector pulse and fuel trims. Many units also use an internal heater to reach operating temperature fast, helping cold-start performance and reducing warm-up emissions

What Happens If It Fails

A weak or dead sensor can cause a check engine light, rough idle, poor acceleration, higher fuel consumption, and a failed emissions test. Over time, running too rich can damage the catalytic converter, while running too lean can raise engine temperature and lead to hesitation or misfire ⚠️
