Intake plenum to manifold seal for Toyota SUVs & pickups
This precision gasket sits between the air surge tank (plenum) and the intake manifold. It blocks unmetered air, holds stable vacuum/boost, and keeps airflow balanced across cylinders. Made from heat‑resistant elastomer with a molded sealing bead, it tolerates vibration, fuel vapors, and high engine bay temps for long service life.
Why you need it ✅
A fresh seal restores smooth idle, clean throttle response, and correct fuel trims. It prevents dusty air from entering the engine and protects the manifold and throttle body. Ideal replacement when chasing vacuum leaks or during intake service on Toyota Fortuner, Hilux, and Land Cruiser.
How it works ⚙️
When the plenum is bolted down, the gasket compresses to form an airtight joint. This keeps MAP readings accurate, so the ECU meters fuel correctly, improving economy and power.
If worn or cracked ❗
Expect rough or high idle, hiss/whistle, lean codes (P0171/P0174), loss of power, misfires, higher fuel use, and possible stalling. Prolonged leaks can draw dust that scores intake surfaces.
Install tips
Clean both faces, align tabs, install dry (no sealant), then torque bolts in a criss‑cross pattern to spec. Always renew the seal whenever the plenum is removed.
