Rear License Plate Garnish Assembly

? This rear trim piece sits around the back number plate area and gives the tailgate a clean, factory-finish look. It’s not just styling—this part helps protect the plate recess and nearby paint from rubbing, water streaks, and minor impacts during loading or parking.

Why this part is needed

The license plate zone takes constant abuse: vibration, weather, car washes, and repeated plate removal. A proper garnish keeps the area tight, reduces rattles, and maintains correct alignment of the rear panel parts.

How it works

? The assembly mounts to the tailgate using factory clips and/or fasteners, locking into the body contours. It acts like a shield and spacer, keeping the plate recess stable and helping water flow away instead of pooling behind the plate.

What happens if it’s broken

⚠️ Cracks or missing tabs often cause buzzing noises, loose plates, water trapping, and paint wear. In colder climates it can snap further, and a loose garnish may rub the tailgate surface, leading to corrosion over time.
