General Motors
The largest U.S. auto company General Motors was founded in 1908 by the company owner William Durant Buick. Originally automaker's headquarter was located in Flint, but later it was moved to Detroit, where is situated up to day.
The company is engaged in production of such vehicles as Alpheon, Buick, Holden, Opel, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC and Vauxhall, and owns shares of Korean GM Daewoo Auto & Technology Co. In addition, General Motors is actively cooperating with other automakers to develop new engines. At the moment, the manufacturer's plants operate in various countries, including Russia, where also cars are assembled. GM vehicles have strong positions on the list of best-selling vehicles in the world.
