Today Volvo Group has a well-deserved title of one of the leading manufacturers of automobiles, and its story began in 1927. It was the time when the first machine, called Jakob, got out into the world in Sweden. The SKF Company was the guarantor of producing of thousand of cars. One of the main directions of its activity at that time was production of bearings, so the car was named Volvo (Latin for "I roll"). For almost 100 years the company has received many offers to merge with other automakers, but only collaboration with MMC has been successful. To date, Volvo cars are sold in many countries.
