This Japanese company NPR was founded in 1931. Initially the enterprise was engaged in the manufacturing of piston rings for aircraft engines. The production was quite successful, so it was decided to buy the patents for production of special metals and coatings for details. In the middle of the century the NPR Company was one of Japan's leading suppliers of piston rings, and in the 70's it has entered the international market. In the European market NPR products have been marketed by Schottle Motorenteile GmbH, headquartered in Stuttgart.
