Automotive brand Lexus is owned by Japanese company Toyota Motor and was created to promote the luxury models on the U.S. market. The date of the appearance of Lexus is considered to be August 1983, when the board of directors of TMC group decided the Japanese manufacturer's entry into the market of luxury cars. The first Lexus ES 250 and LS models have been put on the market in 1989. They were based respectively on popular automobiles Toyota Windom and Celsior.
Today, Lexus cars occupy a strong position in the premium segment of car market. They are actively marketed worldwide, including in Russia.
