Volvo-GM Heavy Truck Corporation (Volvo Trucks North America) is one of the leading companies on the heavy truck market. It was established in 1988 as part of the expansion of Volvo Group Corporation in the U.S. market. There was an agreement on the joint development of commercial vehicles with General Motors. In 1997 the Volvo Group took full control of the company Volvo-GM Heavy Truck Corporation, and in 2001 the company became independent.
