Toyota Industrial Equipment is a division of Toyota, engaged in manufacture of handling machinery and special equipment. The company was founded in 1926 and initially has been engaged in manufacturing looms. In 1948, first transpalette rolled out of the company’s production line, and in 1956 the first forklift was produced. In 1987, the company opened a factory for production of special equipment in France, thus strengthening its position in the European market. In 2001, Toyota Industries Corporation is the world leader in sales of warehouse equipment.
