Why this part is needed

How it works

Each tri-metal shell wraps the journal and is held by crush fit and locating tangs. Pressurized oil forms a micro-thin film that lets the rod float on the crank at speed, reducing friction and stabilizing oil pressure. Correct thickness equals correct clearance and quiet running.
