Thermo Fan Switch for Isuzu Cooling System

This thermal switch is a small, tough guardian of your engine. It monitors coolant temperature and commands the radiator fan to start and stop at the right moment. Why this part is needed

Correct coolant temperature means strong power, clean emissions, and long gasket life. The switch prevents overheating during idle, towing, or A/C use, and avoids overcooling at highway speed.

How it works

Inside is a temperature-sensitive contact. At a calibrated point (typ. around 88–95°C), the circuit closes, energizing the fan relay . When coolant drops several degrees, it opens again. Simple, reliable, and fast.

If the switch is bad

Fail-open: fan never runs → rising gauge, boiling coolant, A/C weak at idle, risk of warped head. Fail-closed/short: fan runs nonstop → slow warm-up, high fuel use, premature fan wear. Intermittent faults cause random spikes.

Tech tips

Usually mounted in the radiator tank or thermostat housing. Replace the sealing washer, use proper torque, and bleed air after refilling coolant. Check fan relay and connector for heat damage.
