Why this part is needed

This small but critical band locks the steering rack bellows (gaiter) to the housing and inner tie rod. It keeps out water, dust, and road salt, protecting the rack shaft and seals. A proper clamp preserves the boot shape, keeps grease where it belongs, and prevents costly wear to steering components.

How it works

Built from spring steel, this ear-type clamp wraps 360° around the boot. When you crimp the ear, it delivers constant tension, holding tight through heat cycles and vibration. The smooth inner band avoids cutting the rubber, while anti-corrosion coating fights rust. Install with ear-clamp pliers: seat on the boot bead, orient evenly, and crimp until snug ✅.

What happens if it’s broken or loose
