This rear powertrain support is a small part with a big job. It holds the engine and gearbox in the correct position, absorbs vibration, and helps keep the cabin smooth and quiet. On a working Hilux, it also protects nearby exhaust, driveshaft, hoses, and wiring from extra movement during acceleration, braking, and rough-road driving.
⚙️ How It Works
The mount uses strong rubber bonded to a metal bracket. The metal gives strength, while the rubber flexes slightly to cancel engine shake and road shock. When the driver changes gear or presses the throttle, this part controls engine rocking and keeps the drivetrain aligned.
⚠️ Signs of a Failed Mount
If the rubber cracks, separates, or becomes soft, the engine can move too much. Common symptoms include knocking sounds, heavy vibration at idle, jerking when shifting, poor ride comfort, and stress on other mounts.
