Engine Mount Cushion for Crossmember (OE ref 1093A006)
This mount cushion supports the engine on the front crossmember/subframe and filters vibration before it reaches the body. It keeps NVH low, stabilizes the driveline, and helps protect steering, exhaust, and ancillary brackets during everyday use and off-road work .
Why this part is needed
High torque 4x4 engines load the mounts hard. A fresh cushion maintains correct engine height and alignment, preventing shudder, cabin buzz, and stress on hoses and wiring. It’s essential for smooth idle, clean shifts, and quiet cruising.
How it works
A bonded rubber bushing with a steel sleeve sits between the mount bracket and crossmember. The rubber compound absorbs shear and compression under acceleration, braking, and road shocks, isolating vibration while holding the engine securely.
If the cushion is worn or broken
Expect harsh vibration at idle, clunks on gear changes, knocking over bumps, and visible engine movement. Long term, it can crack exhaust flex joints, stress the steering rack, and misalign axles. Replace promptly. Tip: tighten bolts at normal ride height for best life ✅.
