Ultrasonic Parking Sensor (Position No.2) 🔧

This ultrasonic parking sensor is a key helper for safe low-speed driving and tight parking. It is needed to detect nearby obstacles that are hard to see from the driver seat, especially bumpers’ blind zones. The sensor sends out high-frequency sound waves and reads the echo coming back from objects. The control unit then converts that signal into distance warnings on the display or through beeps, helping you stop before contact.

How It Works ⚙️

When reverse or parking assist is active, the sensor pulses ultrasonic waves through its front face. If an object is close, the return echo comes back faster. The system calculates distance by time-of-flight and triggers step-by-step alerts as you approach the obstacle.

What If It Fails? 🚫

A faulty sensor may cause constant beeping, no warning at all, false “obstacle” alerts, or a parking assist error message. In real use, this can lead to scraped bumpers, cracked trim, and costly repairs because the system can’t judge distance correctly. Replace it if it’s water-damaged, impact-cracked, or giving unstable readings.
