Why this part is needed

The shield deflects grit away from the rotor, caliper, and ABS sensor, reducing wear and rust. It limits splash that can cause corrosion on the hub and studs, and it improves airflow around the disc to reduce fade during heavy braking or towing.

How it works ⚙️

A stamped steel plate bolts to the steering knuckle behind the rotor. Its curved lip follows the disc edge to block debris while leaving safe clearance. Cutouts align with the caliper bracket; drain slots move water away. Exact left-hand geometry prevents contact at full lock or full suspension travel.

What happens if it’s broken ❗

You may hear scraping or squeal, get hot spots, and see uneven pad wear. Stones can lodge against the rotor. Mud and salt reach the disc and hub, speeding corrosion. ABS wiring can be exposed to impacts. Cooling drops, so stopping distance can increase.

Installation notes

Direct bolt-on. Clean the hub face, check knuckle threads, and use anti-seize. Torque fasteners to spec and keep the left-hand orientation. Protect the wheel-speed sensor harness during work.
