Why you need it

Age, heat, and vibration can crack the plastic body, loosen nipples, or clog the internal filter. Replacing a tired tank restores correct flow and prevents pump cavitation, whining, and premature wear.

How it works

Return fluid enters the reservoir, slows through baffles, sheds air, then passes the mesh strainer. The outlet feeds the vane pump by gravity/low suction. The vented cap stabilizes pressure, and molded ports keep hoses leak‑free.

If it’s broken ⚠️

Expect heavy steering, foamy fluid, pump growl, wandering assist, overheating oil, and leaks. Prolonged use can scar pump vanes and contaminate the rack with metal.

Installation tips ✅

Flush lines, use the manufacturer‑specified ATF/PSF, renew clamps and hoses if swollen, fill to the mark, and bleed by turning lock‑to‑lock with engine idling. Recheck for bubbles and top up warm.
