Clutch Release Fork Assembly ??
This clutch release fork is a key link between your clutch pedal system and the pressure plate. It is needed to push the release bearing smoothly, so the clutch can disengage and you can change gears without grinding or forcing the shifter.
How It Works
When you press the pedal, hydraulic force (or cable force on some setups) moves the fork. The fork pivots on its ball stud and drives the release bearing into the diaphragm spring. This action separates the engine from the gearbox for clean shifting.
Why Replacing Matters
A worn fork can bend, crack, or develop deep contact grooves. If it fails, the bearing may not travel enough, causing hard shifting, clutch drag, and gear clash. In severe cases the pedal may feel soft, stick down, or you may lose clutch control completely—leaving you stranded.
Common Symptoms of a Faulty Fork
- Difficulty selecting reverse or first gear
- Grinding during shifts
- Clutch engagement point changes suddenly
- Metallic clicking or squeal near the bellhousing
Compatibility
- Toyota Land Cruiser 100
