EGR Control Valve for Nissan Diesel Engines ♻️

This exhaust gas recirculation unit is essential for clean running and stable power. It routes a measured portion of hot exhaust back into the intake to lower combustion temperature, cut NOx emissions, and help pass inspection. With a healthy EGR valve, your Nissan idles smoother, runs cooler at cruise, and protects the turbo, DPF, and catalytic components.

How it works

The ECM commands a solenoid/stepper actuator that moves a pintle to open or close internal passages. A position sensor confirms valve angle so flow stays precise. At idle and full load it’s mostly shut; during light throttle it opens to dilute fresh air with inert gases. Many versions use coolant to temper the valve body, and a metal gasket seals the flange.

What happens if it’s broken ⚠️

Carbon build-up or a failed actuator causes rough idle, hesitation, low power, black smoke, high fuel use, and a Check Engine Light. You may see limp mode, frequent DPF regens, knocking, intake soot, and higher NOx—risking test failure and turbo stress.

Clean ports and pipes, fit new gasket/O-rings, torque evenly, check vacuum/electrical, perform EGR relearn with a scan tool, and clear DTCs.
