Engine Flywheel Assembly ⚙️

This flywheel is a key rotating part fitted between the engine crankshaft and transmission. It stores engine energy, helps smooth crankshaft rotation, and gives the clutch a solid surface to grip. In daily driving, it helps the engine run evenly, reduces vibration, and supports clean power transfer from the engine to the gearbox.

Why This Part Is Needed ?

A good flywheel keeps engine speed stable, especially when starting, idling, or changing gears. It also carries the starter ring gear, so the starter motor can crank the engine. Without a strong and balanced flywheel, the clutch system cannot work correctly, and driving comfort becomes poor.

How It Works ?

When the engine runs, the crankshaft turns the flywheel at the same speed. Its heavy, balanced design stores rotational force and releases it smoothly between power strokes. The clutch disc presses against the flywheel face, allowing controlled power flow to the transmission when the pedal is released.

Signs of a Bad Flywheel ⚠️

What Happens If It Fails?

A damaged flywheel may cause clutch slipping, hard gear shifts, knocking noise, vibration, burning smell, or starter engagement problems. If ignored, it can damage the clutch, starter motor, crankshaft seal, or transmission input parts. Replacement is recommended when the surface is cracked, warped, heavily scored, or out of balance.
