Why you need this part

Front brake pads do most of the stopping work. Fresh pads keep stopping distance short, steering stable under braking, and rotors protected. They also reduce noise and dust when matched to factory specs. If your pedal feels long, you hear squeal, or see a brake warning, it’s time to renew.

How it works ⚙️

Each pad clamps the rotor when the caliper applies hydraulic pressure. High‑friction linings convert motion into heat, while shims and slots control vibration and fade. Chamfered edges help smooth engagement, and the wear indicator alerts you before the rotor is damaged.

What if the pads are worn or damaged

Expect longer stopping, pulling to one side, grinding, hot smell, and pulsation. Metal‑to‑metal contact can score rotors, overheat calipers, and stress ABS. Ignoring it raises repair costs and safety risk.

Tech notes

Replace pads in axle pairs, inspect rotors, guides, and boots; clean slides and apply high‑temp grease. Torque hardware correctly and bed‑in with several moderate stops for a consistent bite.
