When you press the pedal, the master cylinder piston pushes brake fluid through the lines. Fresh cups, O-rings, and small internal components prevent bypass, keep pressure stable, and help the pedal return smoothly after release.

Damaged seals can let fluid leak internally, causing pedal fade, longer stopping distance, and inconsistent braking. In severe cases the pedal may sink to the floor, warning lights may appear, and air can enter the system, making the vehicle unsafe to drive.
