    Clutch Plate – OEM Ref MN168640 ⚙️

    This heavy‑duty friction plate restores clean take‑off, strong towing pull, and smooth gear shifts in demanding 4x4 use. It is needed to transfer engine torque to the gearbox input shaft and to cushion vibration, protecting your transmission during daily driving, off‑road, or hauling.

    How it works

    The friction facings grip between flywheel and pressure cover when you release the pedal. A splined hub sends torque into the gearbox, while torsion springs absorb shock and reduce drivetrain chatter. Proper damping gives quiet engagement and longer life for gears, bearings, and joints.

    When it fails ⚠️

    Expect clutch slip (revs rise but speed doesn’t), weak acceleration on hills, burning smell , shudder on take‑off, noisy rattle from loose damper springs, and hard shifting. Continued use can blue the flywheel, crack the cover, contaminate facings with oil, and damage the release system.

    Pro tips ✅

    Replace as a set (plate, cover, release bearing), inspect/regrind flywheel, align the hub correctly, and torque bolts in sequence. Bed‑in gently for 300–500 km; avoid riding the pedal for best lifespan.
