    Rear Axle Inner Bearing Retainer Ring for Mitsubishi 4x4/van

    Why this part is needed

    This steel retainer locks the rear wheel bearing on the axle shaft and keeps the hub aligned with the seal and backing plate. It sets correct preload, prevents axle end-play, and keeps differential oil inside the housing. Without it, your truck or van can’t hold the bearing firmly under load, towing, or off‑road use.

    How it works

    The collar is press-fitted behind the bearing. When seated, it grips the axle shaft with high interference, pinning the bearing against the shoulder. It works together with the oil seal to maintain sealing pressure and keeps the axle from drifting outward. Heat‑treated steel resists fatigue, corrosion, and braking heat cycles. ⚙️

    What happens if it fails

    • Growling or rumbling from the rear wheels
    • Axle shaft play; uneven brake shoe/disc contact
    • Gear oil leaks at the axle seal and contaminated brakes
    • Risk of bearing spin, hub wobble, or axle walk-out

    Tech notes

    Always replace the retainer when changing a rear bearing; it is not reusable. Press on squarely (or heat the collar, never the bearing), and verify seal land is clean. Built to OE dimensions for precise clamp load and long service life.
