Front Drive Shaft Oil Seal (RH/LH) – Precise Fit for Toyota Axles ⚙️

This seal keeps gearbox oil in and road grit out, protecting the transaxle and CV axle splines. It prevents leaks at the output where the shaft enters the transmission, maintaining correct lubrication and pressure. A healthy seal saves differential bearings, gears, and synchronizers from dry running and contamination.

How it works ️

Press-fitted in the transmission case, the outer shell grips the bore while the inner elastomer lip, loaded by a garter spring, hugs the axle journal. A dust lip blocks debris. Correct lip tension and a smooth shaft surface create a thin oil film for sealing with low friction. The result: stable fluid level, clean internals, and quiet, efficient drive.

When it fails and why it matters

Signs include wetness around the axle, drops of oil under the car, burning oil smell on exhaust, and low transmission fluid. Left unchecked, you risk bearing howl, gear wear, ABS sensor contamination, and costly gearbox damage. Severe leaks can cause harsh shifts or no drive due to oil starvation.

Installer tips

Lightly oil the lip, align square, and drive to the specified depth—never distort the shell. Inspect and polish the axle journal; replace if grooved. Verify breather is clear and fluid level correct after refit.
