Injector Driver Module (Fuel Injector Control Unit) ⚡

This electronic control module is needed to command the fuel injectors with the exact timing and current they require. Modern engines rely on precise injector firing to keep starts smooth, power strong, and emissions low. The unit works like a “power amplifier” for the ECU: it receives low-power trigger signals and then switches a higher-current pulse to each injector so fuel is delivered in the correct quantity at the correct moment.

How it works

Inside are high-speed transistors and protection circuits that open and close injector coils in milliseconds. It also stabilizes injector current, helping maintain consistent spray even under load, hot restarts, or cold conditions.

If it fails ⚠️

A faulty module can cause misfires, rough idle, poor acceleration, hard starting, excess smoke, bad fuel economy, or limp mode. In some cases, injectors may not fire at all, leading to a no-start. Continued driving may damage the catalytic system or overload wiring due to erratic current control.
