Front Right Wheel Speed Sensor (ABS)

This front-right wheel speed sensor is a key input for the ABS and stability systems. It “reads” how fast the wheel is turning and sends a clean signal to the ABS module, helping the van brake straight and stay controllable on wet or loose roads .

Why this part is needed

During braking, the system must know when the front right wheel starts to slip or lock. The sensor provides real-time wheel speed data so the ABS can pulse brake pressure instead of letting the tire skid.

How it works

The sensor sits near the hub and monitors a toothed ring/encoder. As the wheel rotates, it creates an electronic pulse pattern. The ABS computer compares all four wheels; if one slows too fast, it commands the hydraulic unit to modulate pressure for safer stops.

What happens if it’s broken

A failed sensor may trigger the ABS warning light, disable ABS/traction support, and cause longer stopping distance on slippery surfaces. You may also notice erratic ABS activation, speed-related fault codes, or harsh braking feel ⚠️.
