Rear Differential Mount Cushion (No.1) for Toyota 🚗

This rubber-insulated mount cushion is designed to support the rear differential and keep it steady under load. It is needed because the differential generates strong torque reactions during acceleration, gear changes, and braking. Without a healthy cushion, that force transfers into the body and driveline, creating harsh vibration and unwanted movement.

How It Works ⚙️

The cushion sits between the differential bracket and the chassis, using a firm rubber core to absorb shocks while still holding alignment. It reduces driveline lash, limits axle wind-up, and helps keep the prop shaft angles correct. A good mount also protects nearby bushings and bearings by stopping excessive differential twist.

If It’s Worn or Broken ❗

When the cushion cracks, separates, or collapses, you may notice clunking on take-off, thumps on shifts, humming vibrations at speed, and uneven stress on the driveline. Continued driving can lead to accelerated wear of the differential bushings, prop shaft joints, and even mounting points on the subframe.
