Clean, uninterrupted oil flow is the first line of defense against wear. This assembly blocks sludge, silicone scraps, and gasket grit from reaching the pump and high-clearance parts, extending pump life and preserving hot-idle pressure.

How it works ️

Oil is drawn through the mesh screen, up the pickup tube, past the seal, and into the pump gears. Correct pickup-to-pan clearance prevents vortexing and cavitation, while the reinforced neck resists vibration and pan impacts.

What happens if it’s damaged ⚠️

Clogging or a cracked tube/loose O-ring causes low oil pressure, foaming, and noise (ticking, knock). Expect warning lights, metallic glitter in oil, and rapid bearing wear—severe cases can spin bearings or seize the engine.

Tech notes
