    Engine Connecting Rod Bearing Set for Subaru

    This precision bearing set supports each connecting rod on the crankshaft and keeps the bottom end smooth and quiet. It is needed during engine rebuilds, after low oil pressure events, or when rod knock starts. Fresh bearings restore correct oil clearance, stabilize oil pressure, and protect the crank journals from scuffing.

    How it works ⚙️

    Thin-shell inserts sit in the rod big-end and ride on a pressurized oil film. The hydrodynamic layer prevents metal-to-metal contact while the hardened bearing surface handles load and heat. Correct clearance is vital: too tight and it seizes, too loose and pressure drops. Always clean parts, oil the shells, and torque rod bolts to spec.

    If worn or failed

    Expect cold-start knock, low oil pressure, glitter in oil, and rising temps. Continued driving can spin a bearing, blue the journal, bend a rod, or seize the engine—often requiring crank grinding or a full short-block replacement. Replace early to avoid catastrophic damage.
