This lower transmission pan is a key sealing and oil-holding part of the automatic transaxle. ⚙️ How It Works

The pan is bolted to the bottom of the transaxle with a gasket or sealant. Transmission fluid collects inside it, then the pump draws the fluid through the filter and sends it to clutches, gears, and hydraulic passages. Its rigid metal shape also helps shield internal parts from road debris and light impact.

⚠️ What Happens If It Is Damaged?

If the pan is bent, cracked, rusted, or the sealing face is damaged, ATF can leak. Low fluid level may cause delayed shifting, slipping, overheating, noise, warning lights, and serious gearbox wear. Replacing a damaged pan early is far cheaper than repairing a failed transmission.
