How it works

The handle mounts to the lever shaft and uses a spring-loaded button to move the detent mechanism. Pressing the button releases the lock so the transmission selector cable can travel to the chosen position. Internally, bushings guide motion, while a small switch (where fitted) communicates with the shift-lock and indicator. The result: smooth, controlled shifts ✅.

What happens if it’s broken

Cracks, loose play, or a sticky button can cause hard shifting, missed gates, or getting stuck in Park. You may hear rattles, see wrong gear indication, or feel the lever not latching properly. Installation notes ?

Direct-fit replacement. Disconnect the battery if a switch is present, remove the boot/trim, align the flats on the shaft, secure the set screw, and verify the brake-press shift-lock release. Lubricate lightly and test all ranges.
